About the Job
American Robotics is looking for UAS pilots / operators / FSRs. Position will entail performing daily flight operations for testing, demonstrations and training of customers. Prepare and mobilize system for sales, demos and deployments. Become a certified operator on several UAS platforms and systems. Be able to travel to customer sites for demonstrations and short-term deployments (2 weeks – 1 month). Team collaboration on flight operations, travel schedule, waiver submissions, site surveys, improving safety and day-to-day processes. Service, repair and maintenance of aircraft fleet.

Position is full-time at our Sparks, MD HQ.

Essential Functions/Critical Elements/Job Duties/Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct drone flights in accordance with FAA Part 107 regulations and company policies.
  • Capture aerial data and imagery for various applications.
  • Perform pre-flight planning, including site assessments and risk analysis.
  • Ensure the safe operation of drones, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot drone equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in drone technology and FAA regulations.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of flight logs, maintenance logs, incident reports, and any required paperwork for compliance and reporting purposes.

Education and Training:
  • Valid FAA license (Part 107).
  • Valid driver's license / passport.
  • Successful completion of a formal drone training program (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).

Overall Experience:
  • Prior flight operations / 100 + logged flight hours.
  • Thorough understanding of UAS systems - specifications, classifications, capabilities and limitations.
  • Proficient in using software for flight planning, data / flight log analysis, parameter files, and image / video editing.
  • Certifications related to operations, such as specialized aerial photography, thermal imaging, or surveying.
  • Intermediate to expert level of computer system knowledge (hardware & software).
  • C-UAS experience a plus.
  • FPV flight experience a plus.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • 50 lbs. maximum lifting.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Frequent walking or standing is required.
  • Travel in the US and North America will be required. International travel a high probability.
